Being able to draw upon my psychotherapy/counselling expertise and of my nursing experience in mental health, I feel that I am well suited to work with clients with emotional and practical difficulties in life. Sometimes on a longer term basis, or short term for specific, immediate needs.
I have worked with the Priory group of Psychiatric hospitals for over 20 years, facilitating groups as well as individual and couple psychotherapy/counselling
I have a particular interest in Women’s health and issues particularly in regard to fertility, pregnancy and terminations.
I have a working relationship with Barnardo’s adoption agency whereby I counsel anyone in relationship to adoption matters.
I have expertise in the area of Road Traffic Accidents and work with insurance companies and solicitors to enable people to move on from such trauma
I have for 15 years been teaching/training on counselling certificate and diploma courses.
I also facilitate counsellors and psychotherapist in supervision which enables me to facilitate the future competence of my profession.
For the Past 2 years I have been using my coaching training to motivate clients to achieve their potential in any area or areas that need improvement. This can be to develop specific skill sets or reach goals important to the person or a specific aspect of life.
In recent years I have held a Death Café in my village, Crowthorne. This is because I am passionate about helping communities to realize how important bringing death and dying into conversation naturally and avoid the ‘elephant in the room’. I work as an End of Life Doula, a supporter or companion who walks alongside people living with a life-limiting illness, their families and those who are important to them.
