Psychotherapist, Counsellor & Coach
Annie Cygler
What I specialise in
Trauma
I help people move on after a road traffic accident, including supporting insurance and legal claims.
End of life support
I support people living with a life-limiting illness and their families, including talking openly about dying.
Women's health
I work with women on fertility, pregnancy and pregnancy loss.
I draw on both my psychotherapy and counselling expertise and my nursing experience in mental health. This dual background means I am well suited to work with clients facing emotional and practical difficulties — sometimes on a longer-term basis, and sometimes for short-term, specific and immediate needs.
I have worked with the Priory group of psychiatric hospitals for over 20 years, facilitating groups as well as offering individual and couple psychotherapy and counselling.
Women's health
I have a particular interest in women's health, especially fertility, pregnancy and pregnancy loss.
Adoption
I work with Barnardo's adoption agency, counselling anyone involved in adoption matters.
Trauma and road traffic accidents
I have expertise in the area of road traffic accidents and work with insurance companies and solicitors to help people move on from trauma.
Teaching, training and supervision
For 15 years I have been teaching and training on counselling certificate and diploma courses. I also provide supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists, helping to facilitate the future competence of our profession.
Coaching
For the past two years I have been using my coaching training to motivate clients to achieve their potential in any area that needs improvement — whether that means developing specific skill sets or reaching goals that are important to the person.
End of life support
In recent years I have held a Death Café in my village, Crowthorne. I am passionate about helping communities bring death and dying into conversation naturally, rather than letting it become the 'elephant in the room'. I work as an End of Life Doula — a supporter and companion who walks alongside people living with a life-limiting illness, their families and those who are important to them.
