About me

Hello, my name is Lauren. I am a qualified Humanistic counsellor, trained in Gestalt Therapy and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

My approach

I take a warm, empathic and open-minded approach to my therapeutic work. I aim to build a trusting relationship through our work together, creating a confidential space where you feel safe enough to explore whatever you have to bring.

As a Gestalt-trained counsellor, I support people who are interested in developing self-awareness and want a better understanding of themselves and how they relate to others. This can increase self-confidence and help people make clearer choices and changes to improve their well-being. Together, I will help you to recognise patterns of behaviour that may be restricting your happiness, opening up opportunities for change and healing.

In sessions, I offer talking therapies along with inviting you to use a range of creative ways to express your thoughts and feelings. This can be through drawing, guided visualisation, mindfulness, movement and bodywork. I believe our emotional and physical selves are connected and take a particular interest in the person as a whole.

Areas of support

I work with anxiety, depression, stress, relationships, trauma, bereavement, families, abuse, anger, low confidence, loss and grief. I am also interested in working with people going through pre and post-natal experiences.

What is Gestalt?

Gestalt means "whole" and I work in a holistic way to help people become more aware of their own body, mind and behaviours. I believe personal growth and change happen through experiencing your thoughts and feelings and becoming aware of what is happening in the present moment. By building self-awareness, Gestalt Therapy can support people to take more responsibility for themselves, to increase self-confidence and to help them make clearer choices and changes to improve their well-being.

What I offer

I offer support to adults 18+, both short-term (12 weeks) and longer-term therapy, which enables clients to explore deeper and go at their own pace. Sessions last 50 minutes and are scheduled at the same time each week.

Alongside in-person counselling in Wokingham and Twyford, I also offer online therapy and telephone counselling across Berkshire and beyond.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss working together and arrange a free telephone consultation.
